The original Classic Ledge quartzite page presented stepped panels in Arctic Ice, Honey Gold and Mountain Peak, and a stepped double corner panel in Sea Glass. Quartzite is a hard, dense metamorphic stone, often with a subtle sparkle from mica and quartz crystals, which made these colors popular for bright interiors and sunny exteriors.
Stepped panels have staggered ends that interlock with neighboring panels, hiding vertical joints and creating the look of individually stacked stone.
Suggested uses:
Interior walls
Exterior walls
Columns
Fireplaces
Pool and spa surrounds
Outdoor kitchens
Quartzite resists weathering and abrasion well, so it performs on exterior walls, columns and pool surrounds as well as fireplaces. Light colors like Arctic Ice stay brighter under strong sun and suit coastal and modern homes.
When planning a quartzite ledgestone wall, ask about corner pieces, cap and sill options, and how the installer will handle panel edges at windows and trim. Quartzite is hard to cut, so precise layout saves time and waste.

The archived quartzite page shows Arctic Ice, Honey Gold and Mountain Peak stepped panels and a Sea Glass stepped double corner panel.
Both work well. Quartzite is generally harder and more abrasion-resistant, while slate offers darker, layered tones. Choose based on color, location and budget.
